Thanks for reaching out. Yes, sometimes it would be delayed for various reasons and appear to be frozen. I was already working on this when you created this support ticket! I just released an update a few minutes ago which improved the performance and reliability for the form submission. It also has a little loader icon to indicate to the user something is working. It also has improved error messaging when things do go wrong.

Please update to version 2.3.2 when you can and test! I’m closing the ticket for now, but please let me know if this issue persists after updating and testing and I’ll review your website specifically.

Plugin is updated to version 2.3.2 and after testing I got the message:
Failed to save email. Please try again.

What should I do next?

I know we’ve been communicating privately, but just commenting here as well about what was discovered for others to see.

I was able to replicate the email error and discovered the issue. I had to keep entering emails over and over as it didn’t occur at first. On the 6th try, I got the error you described. The error is coming from a spam protection plugin you have installed called “CleanTalk”. It appears CleanTalk checks all emails submitted in forms. If CleanTalk has reason to believe the email is fake, it will prevent the submission as spam.

Maybe you’re getting this when testing and entering emails over and over it triggers the spam protection or if a user experiences this maybe they’re using a fake email or an email that triggers clean talk.

It seems you might be able to exclude this form from the spam protection by following this guide. I will also review if it’s possible for me to grab the error message coming from cleantalk and display that.

That makes sense.

CleanTalk has caused issues in the past with other forms.

Unfortunately I’m not familiar with their plugin. If you still haven’t been able to get it to work, I’d maybe suggest reaching out to their team if they have a support section. They can likely go over how to do it much fairly easily (if it’s possible).
